Mini Town

This past week was Spring Break. The girls and I decided that we needed a break from El Paso and that we missed our friends and activities in San Antonio and Austin. So, on the 13th we drove the 9 hours to stay with our friends the Tripps and the Atwoods in San Antonio. And then drove the 1 1/2 hour to spend some time with Martin and Christine. We spent 9 days visiting and playing and kept very busy with a lot of fun activities and great friends.

The next few posts will highlight some of our events.

The first thing that the girls insisted that we do upon arriving in San Antonio, was to drive past our old house and check on the tree that we had planted out front. It looked fine and we actually got to take a tour of the house on Sunday. It was nice to see it and reminisce a little. We also went to our old ward and Kylie had fun going to class with all of her old classmates. I pretty much stood out in the hall and talked to everyone, just trying to catch up on what we had missed in the last 9 months.

On Monday, we went to Mini Town. We had never been there before but had heard lots of great things about the place. This was an activity that my girls particularly requested that we do while we were in town.

We went with the Tripps and met up with our friends Becca and her boys and Wendy and her kids.

The girls thought that each themed room built at their level was a fantastic idea.

When we first got there, they ran from room to room to check it all out, then settled on spending some quality time in their favorites; the beauty salon and the grocery store. The mini movie theatre was a hit as well as the teeter totter. They could have spent a lot more time there, but I think I had my fill at a couple of hours.

I'm glad you were able to spend Spring Break with friends. It really breaks up the time apart having things to look forward to doesn't it? How are you doing? Sure miss you. Sending lots of love and prayers your way!
