Great Wolf Lodge- Feb. 27, 2012

We knew it was time for a family vacation.  We had so many wonderful memories of our last visit to The Great Wolf Lodge, we thought we would try it out again.  This time the girls are older and able to enjoy it more.  Even Lanie was pleasant to have around!
We made this a road trip adventure and drove from El Paso to Austin, where we got to spend the night with Uncle Marty and Aunt Chrissy.  We went to church with them and always enjoy playing games and laughing with them.
We then drove the rest of the way to Grapevine and met up with Mata (Uncle Elmo to the girls), Miki's brother.  We hadn't seen him for about 4 years; definitely way too long!  The girls loved re-meeting him and he was a great sport to go on the slides and lazy river with them.  They dragged him all over the water park.
Here is a picture of what Lanie did most of the time... watched everyone else playing and having fun in the water park.  She had a good time in the Kiddie Pool area until she got a nasty infection on her leg and we felt it was better for her to watch from the side.  She is always wishing she was older and bigger so she can do what her sisters are doing.  She tries!

Here Kylie and Sadie are mastering the lily pads.  I was impressed at how quickly Kylie could get across and that Sadie never gave up.  She worked at this over and over and wanted to do it herself.  One time she even fell in right at the end (without a life jacket on) and actually swam to me at the edge!

The girls standing outside by the Tornado, definitely the funnest slide at the park.

Sadie batted her eyes and suckered Uncle Elmo into buying her her very own wand for the MagicQuest game.  She picked out this beauty and was so proud to have her own even she didn't use it on the entire game.
Lanie again, wandering the hotel while her sisters are having fun.
Oh, wait her she stole Sadie's wand and is trying to have some MagicQuest fun of her own.
Kylie was very focused on the adventures and quests with her wand.  She wouldn't give up and spent hours on them.  She would get to the end of one and not be able to beat it because she didn't have enough "experience points" and we had to leave the hotel.  She was not too happy about that!  Maybe a little like her mom... she has to finish what she starts.

More pictures of the MagicQuest adventures.
We were all grateful for the much needed vacation and visit with family.  We are already talking about our next visit to the Great Wolf Lodge.  Definitely a family favorite!
